WA Children's Hospital

19 January 2015

Fire Protection Technologies continues to be heavily involved with Health Services in Western Australia following the recent completion of the Fiona Stanley Hospital for which we were contracted to supply the gaseous fire extinguishing systems throughout.

We are again working with the Firesafe United Group to design and supply the gaseous fire suppression systems for the New Children’s Hospital currently being built on the QEII Medical Centre site in Nedlands where a total of 24 ProInert systems are required throughout the facility.

The largest 35 cylinder system has been supplied to protect the Main Data and Server room and the supply of the remainder of the ProInert systems is continuing as design and construction of the hospital progresses. These systems will be installed for the protection of key communications equipment rooms, MRI and other medical scanning facilities.

Working continuously with Firesafe during the design phase providing advice on system layout and Gas flow calculations. In the background we also liaised with consultants from Norman Disney and Young to assist in refining concept designs and solutions for some of the more specialised risks in the building.

Once all systems have been installed, Fire Protection Technologies will work with Firesafe to assist with testing and commissioning. Completion date for the project is planned for last half of 2015.
